Time for a Haircut

It was time for Lucky to have a haircut for the summer especially since we're heading out to camp in a few days. I looked into taking her someplace and pay to have it done, but to be honest I guess I'm kind of a cheap skate. I thought it was just a little bit silly to pay more to get the dog's haircut than I pay to get mine cut. Having determined that I was going to be the stylist I looked online to figure out how in the world you go about cutting a dog's hair. It really didn't look all that though and I felt up for the task. It didn't turn out too bad. I thought I would show some before and after pictures.

Here's the before picture.
She really did a good job holding still. At first the clippers scared her cause they kind of vibrate, but she got used to it in no time.
As if she could get any smaller looking...I think she does look littler now!

Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen...

I'm sure you've heard the saying, "Too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the broth. In this case for me it was "Too much salsa in the blender dirty's the clean kitchen." Everyone has those days where it would just be better off if they didn't set foot in the kitchen. This evening that was so true of me. I thought it would be a nice surprise for Tim when he got home if I had some homemade salsa with chicken tacos. It was the perfect plan until...I decided to use too high of a speed to blend the salsa and neglected to put the lid on top. I'm sure it's not very hard to imagine the disaster that followed soon after. Salsa quite literally went everywhere! It got on me, the counters, the linolium, the carpet...I don't know if it got on Lucky cause I'm sure if it did she happily licked it off. It reminded me of a horror movie when you can see it all happening as if in slow motion and yet there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it. I'm pretty sure it took me longer to clean up the mess than it did for me to chop everything up and make it. Here's a sample of the mess that ensued...

I didn't take a picture of the floor, but you get the idea.
